Aadi joined my Saturday SEA Creative Writing, Comprehension & Poetry Analysis class in September 2020. He had just entered standard four and online classes were relatively new but we were able steer a steady ship. He later joined my full time online classes in February and March 2022.
Aads as I fondly call him, has always been a diligent, respectful and dedicated learner. He took his corrections ‘to heart’ in the beginning but was able to use the same to improve on his skills. His confidence boosted.
Paramount to his success, was a dedicated team: his home circle (mum and aunty Seema especially), and myself. This is what I am proud of and reiterate to my parents – teamwork is vital, it definitely makes the dream work! As an educator and a leader, I am very grateful for this continued team effort.
So I was not surprised when his mum gave me the news that Aads was recognized by Atlantic LNG as one of Point Fortin’s Finest in their Leadership Development Programme’s 2022 cohort. Every year they award the top 10 SEA performers in Point Fortin, sponsoring their academic careers.
This is truly the fruits of my labour of love. Best wishes to my ‘baby’ and many more years of continued success in life!
