What classes do you offer?

PLI offers classes for learners ages 5 to adults.

  • Infants to form 5 (full-time and lessons)
  • Adults and repeaters writing in the January and May/June CSEC sittings. (Evening classes)
  • Professional short courses: Computer Literacy (basic & Microsoft Office advanced); Conversational Spanish & French classes at both the basic and intermediate levels.
Are classes online or face-to-face?

All classes are now online and will remain so for the foreseeable future.

What online platform do you use?

All classes are over the Zoom platform. A back up system is used when needed.

What is the class size?

Full-time classes are small with a maximum of 12 students whilst there is
no limit to the CSEC evening classes.

How do the students receive notes?

All registered students receive their personal login to our e-learning management system which allows them to receive all notes and other learning materials used in the sessions. This is available 24/7. Parents also have access to this platform.

Are students assessed during the terms?

Yes, assessments are done throughout the term (weekly test, mid and end of terms) via our e-learning management system. Assessments may vary per class.

How does the school communicate with parents/guardians?

Each teacher as well as the principal, is available via the chat option on the e-learning management system. Each class also has a WhatsApp group for relevant class communications. Parents can also email, WhatsApp or call the school via 688-7030.

Do full-time students write the SEA?

Our full-time students have the choice of writing the SEA or writing our internal assessment before being promoted to the form one level.

How do your SEA students write the exam?

Our standard 5 students register as private candidates. Parents/guardians are responsible for completing the process. We provide step by step guidance on this.

Do you follow the MOE syllabus?

Yes, we follow the MOE’s syllabus at both the primary and secondary levels.

Do you register students for the CSEC exams?

We register our full-time students writing the CSEC exams. Evening students (adults/repeaters), register on their own but we guide them on the process.

What are the qualifications of the teachers?

All teachers are registered with the MOE and are holders of at least a first degree in their respective subjects. You can learn more about our team by clicking on the ‘About Us’ tab of the website.

What is your SEA and CSEC pass rates?

We have maintained a 98% overall pass rate at both levels. These grades are based not only on the teaching but the commitment of the student: in attending all sessions, being participative and engaging in continuous revision amongst others. Our success is based on teamwork.

How can we register?

Our registration process has two parts:

  1. Complete the information on the registration link found by going to the ‘Sign Up’ tab on the menu.
  2. Complete payments and send us via WhatsApp, a photo of the transaction receipt. Once payment is confirmed, then learners are added to the e-learning management system and allowed into the classes.

Note: All students receive a FREE session in the class/subject they are interested in pursuing – this is done prior to registration.

How are payments made and when are they due?

Class payments can be done via online transfer or direct deposit to our FCB, Scotiabank or WiPay accounts. Payments are due by the 4th of every month. Term payments can also be made by the end of the first week in each new term.
