Ms. Whitney Punch-George

(BA.) – Educator, CXC Examiner (Languages)

Whitney Punch-George is no stranger to foreign languages – she speaks three! Whitney developed her love for foreign languages while a student at St. Joseph’s Convent, St. Joseph where she excelled at both French and Spanish, among other subjects. She then went on to further her academic career in both languages with a Bachelor of Arts Degree at the University of the West Indies St. Augustine Campus inclusive of a year at the Université de Michel de Montaigne in Bordeaux, France.

Upon completion of her secondary and undergraduate studies, Whitney began her career as an educator at her alma mater where she taught Spanish and French as a substitute teacher. Subsequently, she ventured into the interpreting field where she worked alongside native Spanish and French speakers on several projects. She then continued her career in education at St. Anthony’s College where she taught both Spanish and French at the CSEC level.

Whitney now teaches the young women of Holy Faith Convent, Couva, (Spanish and French) at both the CSEC and CAPE levels. Ms. Punch-George continues to inspire young minds daily about the wonders of foreign languages and is currently pursuing a Diploma in Education.
